Solapur Airport (IATA: SSE, ICAO: VASL) is a public airport located in
Solapur, in the state of Maharashtra, India. The Airport was built by Indian
Defence Authorities in September 1948 and later re-built in 1987 and was run
and maintained by the Public Works Department. Currently the Airport is
operate by Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
The Airport has a 6,591 feet (2,009 meter) long asphalt surface runway with
oriented 15/33. Elevation of the Airport is 1,584 ft / 483 m AMSL.
Kingfisher Red operated an ATR-72 service to Mumbai in February 2009 four
times a week but was discontinued in August 2010.
Currently there are no scheduled airlines operating at this Airport.
