The Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a forest reserve located in the middle of Mahananda River and Teesta River and one of the well-known Bagdogra tourist attractions.

This beautiful sanctuary is about half an hour away from Bagdogra and offers the tourist a splendid opportunity to sight The Royal Bengal Tiger, the Indian Bison, the barking deer, Sambar, Indian elephants and other mammals and birds.

Getting There

If you are in Siliguri city center, you can take a taxi or a shared jeep to the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. Several taxis and shared jeeps operate on this route, and you can find them at the Siliguri Junction Bus Terminus or other local taxi stands.

The Bagdogra Airport (Airport Code: IXB) is the nearest airport from The Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. The driving distance from Airport to the Sanctuary is approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles), and it takes around 1 hour to cover this distance by road, depending on traffic conditions.
