Kunthalgiri Jain Temple

Siddha Kshetra of Kunthalgiri is important Jain pilgrimage and Siddha Kshetra (Place of Salvation). As per Jainism, Kunthalgiri is the only sacred place of southern India from where two ascetic saints named Shri Kul Bhushan and Desh Bhushan achieved salvation and went to Moksha.

During the period of twentieth Tirthakar Munisuvratnath, two brother Shri Kul Bhushan and Desh Bhushan had offer continous prayer (Tapashcharya) for transformation of soul towards the almighty and made this holy place.  It is the land of Shri Kul Bhushan and Desh Bhushan who place his soul on this holy land.

The temple is located on hill has ancient images of foot pairs of Shri Kul Bhushan and Desh Bhushan in the main temple.

 

Getting There

Kunthalgiri Jain Temple is located about 50 km from Osmanabad, it can be easily accessible from Osmanabad.

Osmanabad is well connected by good roads to major cities in Maharashtra. National Highway 211 (NH211) connects Osmanabad to other major cities of Maharashtra.

Osmanabad has its own Railway Station named as Osmanabad Railway Station which is connected to the major cities of Maharashtra. It is linked with the cities like Mumbai, Pune, Miraj Kolhapur, etc.

Osmanabad has its own domestic airport named as Osmanabad Airport. Currently there are no scheduled airlines operating at this Airport. The nearest domestic / international airport is Pune International Airport, roughly 261 km from Osmanabad. Pune International Airport is well connected to major cities in India.
