Since it is believed that soil from Mecca was used in the
construction of Hajo Powa Mecca, it is considered a holy site. It is
located on Garurachal Hill.
Getting There
Silchar is well connected by
road, railways and air to the rest of the country. Regular bus services
connect Silchar with Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Agartala and Imphal through
NH 37 and NH 53.
The nearest Railway Station to
Silchar is Badarpur Railway Station, located at a distance of 32 km from
Silchar. It is very well connected to many major cities like Maibong,
Lumding, Mamit, Dimapur and Guwahati.
Silchar Airport is
about 24 kilometers away from the main city and it takes only a 45-50
minutes drive. Cabs and private cars are easily available at the city for
the airport.
