Children flying without a parent or legal guardian are classified as Unaccompanied Minors (UMs). If your child is traveling alone under this service, please ensure all safety measures are followed for a smooth and secure journey.

Unaccompanied Minor

Under 5 years: Not permitted to travel unless accompanied by an adult aged 16 or older.

Ages 5–12: Eligible for the Unaccompanied Minor Service with a full adult fare ticket.

Ages 12–16: May use the service on request by a parent or guardian, also with a full adult fare ticket.

Service Highlights

Notify Emirates at booking about seat and meal preferences; special arrangements can be made for birthdays, including a cake.

Dedicated check-in procedures at departure, with staff escorting the child to the aircraft. Check-in must be at least two hours before departure.

Priority boarding to allow cabin crew to assist with seating and storing hand luggage.

Optional onboard Polaroid photographs (time permitting).

Upon arrival, an Emirates representative meets the child at the aircraft door, assists with formalities, and hands them over to the assigned guardian.
