Bangalore Airport is located about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of Devanahalli and is 40 kilometres (25 mi) from the central business district of Bangalore, (30 kilometres (19 mi) from the Bangalore City Railway Station and covers 4,700 acres (1,900 ha). It is well connected to other parts of the city by all modes of transport.

Buses

Vayu Vajra - The airport shuttle service, operate by BMTC, has a fleet of comfortable, air-conditioned Volvo buses – ‘VayuVajra' - which connect the airport and the city through 11 routes.

Flybus - Bus services operate by KSRTC, offer bus connectivity from Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru to Manipal via Mangaluru.

Taxis

If you wish to hire a cab to reach the airport or other destinations, three service providers stand ready, with a smart fleet. Karnataka Taxi, MegaCabs, and Meru Cabs, are the official taxi operators at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru. They provide you convenient, safe, easily accessible, and cost-effective travel in a standard, air-conditioned sedan. Airport taxi service can be availed at the airport for travel to Bengaluru city and vice versa.

Future Connectivity Plans

High Speed Rail Link (HSRL)

To keep pace with the increasing air traveller population, the Government of Karnataka has proposed a High Speed Rail Link (HSRL) project connecting the city centre to the airport. This will cover approximately 33 kilometers with four stations at Cubbon Road (Terminal Station), Hebbal, Yelahanka, and Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (Terminal Station).

The Cubbon Road station is proposed as a City Air Terminal (CAT) station with facilities for baggage and flight check-in, and the Terminal station at the airport is proposed to be an underground station at the forecourt of Passenger Terminal Building.
