Leh Airport Public Transport

Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport (also known as Leh Airport) is a public airport serving Leh, Jammu and Kashmir, India. This Airport is 8 kilometres away from city center.

Most of the hotels in Leh are able to help you book a taxi for you to Airport. You will also find in Leh a number of local taxis, that will take you to the surrounding monasteries much faster and more comfortably than other public transport. The taxis also take passengers to Leh Airport. Rates are fairly steep compared to elsewhere in India. Bargaining may be necessary as meter are not used here.

The Airport is well connected with state transport buses. Passengers can board buses to different destinations from outside the airport. This mode of transportation is significantly cheaper than the Taxi service.

The nearest Rail Head is Jammu 620 km. from Leh. Jammu is connected to all parts of India through express trains.
