visitors have a variety of options for intercity commute. The transport
network includes the Mumbai Suburban Railway, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply
and Transport (BEST) buses, taxis and auto rickshaws. While these are

Suburban Train
The Mumbai Suburban Railway Network is the quickest way to commute within
the city. Commonly referred to as local trains, Mumbai trains have three
different lines namely the Western Line, the Central Main Line, and the

and the suburbs and is the most preferred way to commute amongst the people
of Mumbai.

in Santacruz is Vile Parle (East). Andheri (East) is the nearest suburban
railway station from the International terminal at Sahar.
Mumbai is also well connected to the rest of country by the railway network.

Buses
Mumbai city and its suburbs are also connected through the bus service
provided by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST). As this
efficient service spans across the city and has economical fares, BEST buses
are preferred forms of public transport for many. Bus stops are spread all
over the city at regular distances. Bus routes are numbered and the signs
indicate the origin and destination of the buses.
The following bus routes pass through these terminals:
Domestic Terminals: You can take the bus route no. 312 to commute to Vile
Parle (East) and Andheri (East) railway stations.
International Terminal: You can take the bus route no. 321 to commute to
Vile Parle East. Bus route no. 308 will take you to Andheri (East) railway
station.
BEST also offers Air conditioned and Express bus services.

Private and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses also
operate from Mumbai to other parts of the country.
Auto Rickshaws
Auto Rickshaw is a three wheeler vehicle. This metered mode of public
transport operates only in the suburbs- post Bandra in the western suburbs
and till Sion in the central suburbs. A fare conversion chart is available
with all auto rickshaws and it is advisable to pay according to the meter.
Auto Rickshaws are available at the Domestic Terminal.
Taxis
Government licensed taxis are available and operate throughout the city of
Mumbai and the suburbs. All of these taxis have meters. A fare conversion
chart is available with the taxi driver and it is advisable to pay according
to the meter.
Prepaid taxis are available at both Domestic and International Terminals. A
number of private taxi providers and car rentals are available as well. One
