Visakhapatnam Dining

Visakhapatnam has a gamut of eating out options that ranges from Chinese and juicy north Indian tandoori to good wholesome south Indian vada-sambar and ‘continental’ cuisine, there is a dish here to suit most tastes. Since it’s close to the sea, the local cuisine is predominantly seafood. Curries of sea fish and prawns cooked in sesame and simmered in coconut milk are simply divine.

Try a combo meal at the multi cuisine restaurant Tulips at the Green Park Hotel or sit at the glass windowed Vista Restaurant at the Park Hotel and sample some world cuisine Thai, Mexican or Italian is available.

The Dhabba Express at Siripuram offers mouth watering Punjabi food and the buffet spread at Southern Spice at the Green Park again is sumptuous. Besides these there are many stand alone restaurants that serve anything from spicy hot South Indian cuisine to piping hot dosas and the more mundane 'rasam' and rice. Other multi cuisine restaurants run the gamut from chinese, pasta and tandoori food. So take your pick!

Nightlife in Vishakhapatnam is comparatively better than other cities in Andhra Pradesh. Music Café is a favourite with the young and student crowd. Planet Q, Rodeo and Yankee Club have great music and ambience. Pub Chrome and 10 Downing Street are the tourist ‘hot-spots’.

You can also catch a movie at one of the many movie theatres located in the city. The Likitha, Chitralaya and Kameswari Cine Enterprises are some of the popular movie halls.
