This is
one of the most beautiful structures in Ashram, the visitors are
introduced to the godliness and divinity of Sai Baba through multimedia
presentations and more.
The
structure too, is a specimen of fine architecture and design which
combines Chinese roofs, Moorish Spires, Gothic arches and Japanese and
Thai styles. The museum was designed by a NASA scientist, Art-ong Jum
Sai.
Getting There
Chaitanya Jyoti Museum is located 120 kilometers (about 80 miles) north north
east of Bangalore.
Puttaparthi is well connected by good roads and railways. The Andhra
Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation operates bus services from
Puttaparthi bus station. People visit Puttapathi from all over India,
and most State transport services also ply their own buses to this
place.
Prasanthi Nilayam appeared on the Indian railway map with the formal
flagging of the Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam.
Sri
Sathya Sai Airport is a domestic airport situated in the town. Until
the year 2008, the Sri Sathya Sai Airport had scheduled flights to
Mumbai and to Chennai airport operated by Indian Airlines. These flights
ceased when Indian airlines was merged with Air India. By this time, the
airlines only operated flights to Bangalore thrice a week.
The nearest international airport is
Kempegowda International
Airport, located in Bangalore, 120 kms away. It is about three hour
drive to Bangalore from Puttaparthi. To make arrangements for a taxi from
Prasanthi Nilayam to Bangalore, contact one the taxi operators and
travel agents that have offices outside the ashram.
