Of these sites, Kaua Khoh rock shelter site located in Khodwa Pahar,
is the biggest and houses the largest repertoire of rock paintings. These
works of art speak eloquently about the culture and lifestyle of the people
ranging from their origin to the subsequent periods in the history.
Getting There
In Sonbhadra,
taxis, buses and autos are available easily. The city is well connected by rail
and road to Delhi, Allahabad, Ranchi and Patna. There are a number of
moderately priced hotels in the town.
Muirpur Airport
is situated at Muirpur approximately 12 km from the Renukut is the nearest
airport to Sonbhadra.
Currently there are no scheduled commercial air service at this
Airport.
Varanasi International Airport
in Varanasi, 118 km north of Sonbhadra. It is
about two and a half hours
drive to the Airport from Sonbhadra. Buses are available at all hours of the day from
Varanasi and it normally takes 2½ hours to cover the distance.
