The wild plants in the sanctuary comprise saagun, amaltas, mahua,
koriaya, ber, tendu besides several medicinal plants. Chandra Prabha and
Kamnasha Rivers running through the sanctuary host a large variety of fish
in their waters.
It draws huge crowds of tourists during the winter and rainy seasons
when the waterfalls in the sanctuary run in full swing amidst its lush green
environment.
Getting There
In Sonbhadra,
taxis, buses and autos are available easily. The city is well connected by rail
and road to Delhi, Allahabad, Ranchi and Patna. There are a number of
moderately priced hotels in the town.
Muirpur Airport
is situated at Muirpur approximately 12 km from the Renukut is the nearest
airport to Sonbhadra.
Currently there are no scheduled commercial air service at this
Airport.
Varanasi International Airport
in Varanasi, 118 km north of Sonbhadra. It is
about two and a half hours
drive to the Airport from Sonbhadra. Buses are available at all hours of the day from
Varanasi and it normally takes 2½ hours to cover the distance.
