Chintanamani Jain Temple

Chintanamani Jain Temple is an ancient temple situated in Surat. Build by Aurangzeb, this temple is a finest example of rare architectural style. This 400 year-old Jain temple is famous for its outstanding interior with huge wooden pillars and paintings made of vegetable dyes. These paintings consist of various Jain preachers which are Acharya Hemchandra, Solanki King and King Kumarpala.

The entire wall as well as the ceiling is complete of miniature sculptures and floral motif which never fail to enthrall and wow the people who come to see as well as pray in the temple. The pillars of the temple are made in wood with complicated carvings and brackets apart from the wonderful vegetable dyes all over in the paintings in the temple.

 

The paintings are rendered by famous Jain monk Acharya Hemachandraji and the King Kumarpal of the Solanki dynasty.

Chintamani Jain Temple is known to be a famous tourist spot for both Jains and people from the non-Jain community. A sandalwood replica of Chintanamani Jain temple can be found in London Museum, which was placed there about 90 years ago.

The temple is located in Morarji Nagar Surat Gujarat.

One can reach this place by train, road or even via the air. The temple is one of the famous places of adoration and visit by not only the Jain community but also by others.
