Adampur Airport
Adampur Airport , Jalandhar (IATA: AIP, ICAO: VIAX) is the primary airport
serving the cities of Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur in Punjab, India. It is
located at Adampur Town of Jalandhar district in Northern India, on the
Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur main highway 23 km (14 mi) northeast of Jalandhar,
Punjab, India.
The Airport was required by the Doaba Region of Punjab as the two other main
airports Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee
International Airport and
Chandigarh International Airport are 100 and 145 km distant
respectively.
The Airport is joint managed and controlled by
Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Indian Air Force.
Airlines and Destinations
Commercial flights started on 1 May 2018 when SpiceJet began operations
under the UDAN Regional Connectivity Service (RCS) of the Government of
India.
The Airport is mainly used to travel to Delhi with a very high passenger
turn out rate of 97% per flight.
