Pathankot Airport
Pathankot Airport (IATA: IXP, ICAO: VIPK) is a Civil Domestic Airport. The
Airport is located 3 km from the nearest city Pathankot and 7 km from the
Pathankot Railway Station.
The Airport spread over an area of 75 acres. The Airport has one asphalt
runway, oriented 01/19, the length of runway is 8,970 ft (2,734 m) with
elevation 1,017 ft (310 m) above sea level.
Pathankot Airport was inaugurated by Mr. Praful Patel the-then Aviation
minister on November 21, 2006. The facility was created by the efforts of
Gurdaspur Member of Parliament, Bollywood film actor Vinod Khanna, who had
planned to make Pathankot a tourist spot and industrial hub.
