These pillars are decorated using floral and geometrical
designs looted from the destroyed Hindu temples. The prayer hall has
a carved Qiblah and a pulpit (on the wall towards the west).
The mosque is a popular tourist attraction and is conserved by the
Archeological Department of India. A large number of devotees come here
to offer prayers.
Getting There
The mosque is located in the
Hisar city. Tourists can hire local taxis/cabs or auto rickshaws to reach
the mosque. Buses (both private and HSRTC) operated run to and from the
city.
Hisar is well connected to
the rest of Haryana by roadways and National Highway. Bus and auto rickshaws service is the major
means of transport in the town. Hisar has its own Railway Station named as
Hisar Railway Station which is connected to the major cities of Haryana. It
is situated on the major New Delhi-Bhatinda railway line and is linked with
the major cities in India.
Hisar has its own airport named
as Hisar Airport,
roughly 12 km from the city center.
Hisar Airport currently
is use by Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation’s flying club to provide
flying training.
The nearest International Airport to Hisar is
Indira Gandhi International Airport
at New Delhi, roughly three hour drive from Hisar city. Frequent flights to
various national and international destinations take off from there.
