Venuvana is a monastery that
was the first offering to Lord Buddha by the King Bimbisara. The
monastery was given to Lord Buddha so that he along with his monks could
rest here and also give discourses to his disciples.
Getting There
You can easily
get regular trains and buses from other major cities of the country to
Rajgir.

Airport, Patna is the nearest airport, about 100 kms, for Rajgir.
There
are regular flights to/from Delhi, Calcutta, Varanasi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and

Rajgir has a railway station of
its own which is linked with other cities by a whole range of trains. The
nearest convenient railhead is at Gaya, about 78 kms. From Gaya, there are
daily trains for Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bangalore. Taxis can
be hired from the railhead for Rajgir.
