R Stone works of Bajaura and Masrur belonging to 8th century are
seen here. The museum houses a library, which has a wide range of
collections of historical books. Various manuscripts are also found in
the library.
The Shimla State Museum has various galleries to display their wide
range of collections that cover various categories. They are:
Prehistoric Gallery: The gallery houses Stone Age tools and models of
extinct creatures.
Archaeology Gallery: Sculptures and terracotta articles belonging to the
period of Maurya and Gupta period are on display here.
Wood Carving Gallery: Ruins of wood panels of the ancient temples and
other woodcarvings are found here.

Gallery, Rajasthan Miniature Painting Gallery, Photographs Gallery,

towns. HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) runs 24 daily bus services
between Delhi to Shimla (including 7 luxury Volvo services). Buses from
Chandigarh to Shimla are available round the clock.
The Kalka
Railway Station and the Chandigarh Railway Station are the two closest broad
gauge railway stations from Shimla, the Kalka Railway Station being the
closest one. Both the railway stations connect all the major cities in
India.
