Bhubaneswar Temple

The Bhubaneswar Temple situates at a distance of about 50 km from Silchar and is located on the top the Bhuvan Hill. It is one of the most celebrated temple of Lord Shiva in the entire South Assam.

This is a place of pilgrimage and during the festival of Shivaratri, thousand of Shivayats march towards the hill top to worship Lord Shiva. This temple by its geographical location attracts a lot of hikers as there are no motor roads to reach the hill top, one has to hike at least 17 km from the plains to the temple.

Bhubaneswar Temple is nearly 5 km away from the Maniharan Tunnel.

 

Getting There

Silchar is well connected by road, railways and air to the rest of the country. Regular bus services connect Silchar with Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Agartala and Imphal through NH 37 and NH 53.

The nearest Railway Station to Silchar is Badarpur Railway Station, located at a distance of 32 km from Silchar. It is very well connected to many major cities like Maibong, Lumding, Mamit, Dimapur and Guwahati.

Silchar Airport is about 24 kilometers away from the main city and it takes only a 45-50 minutes drive. Cabs and private cars are easily available at the city for the airport.
