Agatti
Agatti Island is a small 7 kilometer long island, situated about 459
kilometers off the Kochi Coast Agatti is a part of the Lakshadweep Islands,
which is the smallest union territory of India. Agatti is most likely point
of arrival for tourists (By Air) and from here Bangaram, only other island
that has a private resort is just a speed boat ride away. Agatti Islands are
visited as a getaway for its remoteness and crystal clear waters & White
sand beaches. Scuba diving enthusiasts and activity centric guests arrive
here to unexplored coral sites around the area and experience the remoteness
and beauty.
Agatti is one of the Lakshadweep islands open to tourism. Visitors, however,
are allowed to the Island under certain restrictions. They are required to
obtain Entry Permit from the Lakshadweep Administration for entering or
visiting the island. Entry Permit is issued based on the visitor having a
confirmed place to stay.
Situated on the southern end of Agatti Island,
Agatti Aerodrome
is the single landing field in the Lakshadweep Islands which is located 5 km
from the town center. The airport is located in the Union Territory of
Lakshadweep (India). There is only a single airline ‘Alliance Air’
which provides its services in this airport. Flight time from
Kochi International Airport to
Agatti Aerodrome
is about 90 minutes. Visitors can connected to many domestic and
international destinations from
Kochi International Airport.
