Bhatye Beach

Bhatye is a small village very close to Ratnagiri city (approximate 1 km away). The village is well known for a mind blowing, flat sea shower. The length of the beach is approximately 1.5 km and it’s very flat and straight. One can enjoy the Nature at its best here.

The Ratnagiri light house and the famous Mandavi Beach of Ratnagiri city are visible from Bhatye Beach. The place is a paradise for a person who loves the chat Items.

All the delicious chat items are served here at reasonable cost. The Coconut Research center of Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth (An Agricultural University of Konkan) is situated exactly opposite to the Bhatye Beach.

 

Visitors can get the latest information about the coconut and related agricultural research. One five star hotel is very close to the beach. A famous temple of “Zari Vinayak” (Ganeshji Temple) is situated at the end of the beach. Sea waves at the time of high tide is really a breathtaking experience at Bhatye.

Getting There

Bhatye Beach located 12 km from Ratnagiri Railway Station and 2 km from Ratnagiri Bus Station. The place is only 1.5 km away from the main road of Ratnagiri City. The beach is on the way to Pawas from Ratnagiri. MSRTC has provided city as well as rural bus service to Bhatye from Ratnagiri Bus Station..

Ratnagiri is well connected by road that makes the travel easier for the tourists. Ratnagiri is a coastal district and the most convenient way to reach Ratnagiri town is by train. The Konkan Railway Line passes through Ratnagiri and there are numerous trains plying between Mumbai and Ratnagiri. From outside the railway station local taxis are easily available.

Regular bus services are available from most of the major cities in Maharashtra to Ratnagiri. State owned and private buses ply from Ratnagiri to many cities in and around. Evening trips of tourist luxury buses are available from Mumbai to Ratnagiri. City buses and auto rickshaws are available for intra city travel in Ratnagiri.

Ratnagiri has its own domestic airport named as Ratnagiri Airport. Currently there are no scheduled airlines operating at this Airport. The nearest domestic / international airport is Goa International Airport, located in Dabolim, roughly 258 km from Ratnagiri. Goa International Airport is well connected to major cities in India.
