Ratnagiri

Ratnagiri is a district with many popular holiday destinations, at the same time Ratnagiri city itself is a beach destination. There is lots to see and experience in Ratnagiri however the beaches in Ratnagiri dominates all other tourist attractions in Ratnagiri. Mandvi Beach is the most popular beach in Ratnagiri. A black sand beach Mandvi has the Ratnadurga Fort to its west. Together with Mandvi Beach, Ratnadurga Fort forms the core of tourism in Ratnagiri. Pawas Beach and Ganpatipule Beach 20 kms on opposite sides are great picnic spots near Ratnagiri.

Ratnagiri has its own domestic airport named as Ratnagiri Airport. Currently there are no scheduled airlines operating at this Airport. The nearest domestic / international airport is Goa International Airport, located in Dabolim, roughly 258 km from Ratnagiri. Goa International Airport is well connected to major cities in India.

	Mandavi Beach A booming hot spot of tourists, Mandavi Beach is the most crowded beach in the Ratnagiri region. The prettiest beach in Ratnagiri, Mandavi is gifted with a vast line of seashore right up to Rajiwanda Port.
	Aare Beach One of the untouched beaches in Konkan region. This is only 15 km away from Ratnagiri towards Ganapatipule via Nevare village.
	Shri Dev Bhairav Temple Dev Bhairav is the Demy God from the lineage of Lord Shiva. The ancient temple of Shri Bhairav is constructed by Gujar family members.
	Bhatye Beach The Ratnagiri light house and the famous Mandavi Beach of Ratnagiri city are visible from Bhatye Beach. The place is a paradise for a person who loves the chat Items.
	Marine Biological Research Station The Government of Maharashtra under the Department of Fisheries established Marine Biological Research Station (MBRS) in 1958 at Ratnagiri for scientific and planned development of fisheries on the south Konkan coast.
	Sri Kanakaditya Temple Kasheli, a very small village in Rajapur Taluka of Ratnagiri district, is the prime attraction for devotees due to a famous and ancient temple of Sri Kanakaditya (Name of Sun God).
	Ratnadurga Fort Surrounded by the Arabian Sea from three sides. the Fort is having a shape of Horse Shoe and a length approximately 1300 m and width 1000 m.
	Purnagad Fort Situated on a mountain which is at the origin of Muchakundi creek. This Fort is having a small area but the bastions are having a very strong construction. One can view the entire fort premises in a sight.
	Lakshmi Keshav Temple A renowned Temple of Lord Lakshmi Keshav is situated at Kolisare. Lakshmi Keshav is Kuldaivat (Guardian God) for many Maharashtrain families.
	Jaigad Fort The meeting point of the River Shashtri and Arabian Sea is called as the Creek of Jaigad. For the protection of this creek two forts were constructed, one is Vijaygad at the north direction and the other is Jaigad at south.
	Gateway of Ratnagiri A preposterous structure with a slopped roof in the Ratnagiri Jetty in Mandavi Beach. The magnificent beach itself is renowned as the gateway of the hilly terrain.
