Rajdari Devdari Waterfalls

Both Rajdari and Devdari Waterfalls are located in the Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh. Of these two, the 65 meters high Rajdari waterfall is the biggest among a host of waterfalls located in the sanctuary.

It is stepped waterfall and is surrounded by lush green forest area. A picnic spot has been set up by the government close to the water body which is a popular destination for the picnickers and the tourists.

Deo Dari, another popular waterfall is located approximately 500 meters in the downstream side of the Raj Dari Waterfall. Both Rajdari and Devdari Waterfalls are fed by water from a reservoir built approximately one kilometer before the Chandra Prabha dam on a river in the forest of the same name.

 

The waterfalls draw huge crowds of tourists during the winter and spring months.
 

Getting There

In Sonbhadra, taxis, buses and autos are available easily. The city is well connected by rail and road to Delhi, Allahabad, Ranchi and Patna. There are a number of moderately priced hotels in the town.

Muirpur Airport is situated at Muirpur approximately 12 km from the Renukut is the nearest airport to Sonbhadra. Currently there are no scheduled commercial air service at this Airport.

Varanasi International Airport in Varanasi, 118 km north of Sonbhadra. It is about two and a half hours drive to the Airport from Sonbhadra. Buses are available at all hours of the day from Varanasi and it normally takes 2½ hours to cover the distance.
