Kalyan-Dombivli is a twin city and a municipal corporation with its headquarters located in Kalyan in Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was formed in 1982 to administer the twin townships of Kalyan and Dombivli. The municipal corporation has a population 1,193,266 (2001 census), and covers 137.15 square km, giving a density of 8,700 people per square km Kalyan has a history 700 years.

Dombivali is about 50 km from Mumbai. Kalyan-Dombivli is near the villages Mohone, Ambivli and Titwala. Nearest Airport is Mumbai-Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

Ganpati Mandir is one of the most famous temples in the south Asian world and definitely the most famous temple in Dombivli. To visit this Dombivli site, walk towards (5 minutes) Thakurli on the road next to the railway line.

One stretch road to the railway station is the famous Phadke road, a must watch during major festivals. Many well-known celebrities attend the events during Gudi Padva, Dussehra, Ganapati, Diwali and New Year eve.
