Akkulam is
a neighborhood of Thiruvananthapuram city, the capital of Kerala state
in India. It is about 10 km from Thiruvananthapuram city center.
It is a
well known for the picnic and backwater destination Akkulam Lake, an
extension of Veli Lake, where it joins with the sea. A picnic spot with
boating facilities, run by District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC)
Thiruvananthapuram, Akkulam is a place children flock to. It has a
well-equipped children’s park, a paddle pool and a swimming pool for
adults. The children’s park has been given a fresh look after recent
renovation and facilities upgraded.
